Ich vernahm ein stolzes Heulen,
das in Tälern widerhallt‘
und zerbrach an Himmelssäulen
bis es drang in meinen Wald.

Jener Ruf entsprang den Bergen,
diesem wurde ich gewahr,
doch wer schrie aus steinern‘ Särgen
gar so hasserfüllt und klar?

Mögt ihr zwar Wölfe sein,
doch den Waidmann überlisten
auch die Wölfe nicht...

Trauter Krieg ward dort besungen,
dessen Herz im Harsch rot gleißt;
als der letzte Schrei verklungen,
ist der Feinde Blut vereist.

Kurz verband als Kampfgefährten
mich dem Wolf von Perthers Haus,
sah, was beide wir begehrten,
liefen in die Nacht hinaus.

Mögt ihr zwar Wölfe sein,

I heard proud howling
that resounded in the valleys
and burst at empyreal pillars
until it reached my forest.

This call had ist source in the mountains,
I became aware of that,
but who cried out of stony coffins
so very hateful and clear?

You may be wolves
but the huntsman is not finessed
even by the wolves...

Intimate war was sung about there
whose heart gleams red in frozen snow;
as the last cry died away,
the blood of the enemies was frozen.

Briefly I got together as a comrade-in-arms
with the wolf of Perther’s house,
I saw what we both were seeking for,
we ran into the night.

You may be wolves

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

German Melodic Death Metal. Non-stop blast beats & tremolo riffs as well as fantastic melodies - what more could you want? FFO Amon Amarth (but better!) & Insomnium. My only problem is it is far too short for a full length & more is needed... :) Lucky I bought their entire discography! Highly recommended!!! bmurator
